TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival

end June
Vancouver, British Columbia

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is an annual summer event in Vancouver that evolved in the early 1980s and has since become BC’s biggest and most acclaimed music festival.

British Columbia's biggest music showcase animates the city for ten days at the end of June. From midday to the small hours of the morning, a rich tapestry of jazz, blues, funk, Latin, fusion, electronica and world music fill the air at venues big and small, indoor and outdoor across the city.

By taking the music to concert halls, parks, community spaces, clubs, public plazas and neighborhood streets, the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival electrifies Vancouver with over 400 concerts attracting more than 500,000 people each year.

Often awarded Best Festival honors, this jazz fest produced by Coastal Jazz features over 1800 musicians from Canada and around the world performing at over 40 venues citywide. There are more than 150 free concerts including Gastown Jazz on the opening weekend , Canada Day on Granville Island, and the Jazz at the Roundhouse & David Lam Park free concert extravaganza on closing weekend in the beginning of July.

Over the past 25 years, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival has showcased jazz greats like Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin, Tito Puente, Tony Williams, Albert Collins, and John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

As Paul de Barros, The Seattle Times puts it: "If this isn't the best jazz festival in the world, please send us tickets to a better one."
