Luminato - Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity

Toronto, Ontario (ON)

For ten days each year in June, the five-year old Luminato, the Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity, transforms the stages, streets and public spaces of Toronto with theatre, dance, classical and contemporary music, literature, food, visual arts, fashion, film, food and design.

Embracing the cultural diversity of the people of Toronto and involving Toronto’s cultural organizations including the National Ballet, the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, Soulpepper Academy, Harbourfront Centre, Tapestry, Theatre Direct, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, Luminato brings together artists from different cultures and genres, local, national and international, for an astonishing display of what happens when artists work together to explore their cultures and points of view.

Events take place in more than 35 multiple indoor and outdoor locations throughout Toronto’s downtown core and feature artists from across Canada and over 32 different countries around the world including: Australia, Syria, Germany, USA, Kenya, South Africa, UK, New Zealand, Iran, Japan, and Spain

Attracting well over a million visitors each year, Luminato is also a fun event for volunteers in a wide range of positions from administrative volunteers to ambassadors acting as friendly facilitators of information and assistance during the festival.
