TD Toronto Jazz Festival

end March / beginning April
Toronto, Ontario (ON)

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival began in 1987 as a modest eight day celebration of all things “jazz”. 25 years later, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival is recognized as one of North America’s premier jazz festivals. It is endorsed by the Toronto City Council, supported by local jazz artists and big jazz talent from all over the world. It has been lauded as an event that enhances Canada’s international reputation.

Produced annually by Toronto Downtown Jazz, a Canadian registered charity, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival attracts more than 500,000 jazz enthusiasts to the ten days of events.

Attractions include free concerts and workshops, late night jam sessions in more than 350 performances with over 1,500 musicians performing at more than 40 locations in and around Toronto. Key headliners in the past have included Harry Connick Jr, Herbie Hancock, Taj Mahal and Stanley Clarke as well as many more performers of different styles.

While most of the events are indoors and located throughout the downtown core, one of the most popular event venues is Metro Square in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District where the 1,200 seat Mainstage Marquee and outdoor stage provides many of the free jazz events.

For those looking for packages or festival passes, there are the Movado Three Pass (any three Mainstage performances of your choice) or the Movado Five Pass (any five Mainstage performances of your choice.
