Ness Creek Music Festival

A Saskatchewan tradition for over two decades celebrating music, arts, community and ecology, the Ness Creek Music Festival features over 20 Main Stage performances, a Community Sharing Circle, Drum and Dance Circle, Children’s Area, Workshop Stage and Evo-Village.

Beginning life as The Ecological Fair in 1989, the Ness Creek Music Festival opened with 7 bands and 200 people. Today the festival attracts thousands of visitors with a multicultural, cross-cultural and fusion program of music and artists with everything from Saskatchewan folk, to blues, bluegrass, folk, funk, and even flamenco, Japanese Taiko drumming, Tibetan banjo players, and Jamaican Mento Masters.

Past artists featured at the Ness Creek Music Festival include David Ross MacDonald, Mr. Something Something, Elliott Brood, Reverend Horton Heat, Bill Bourne & Lester Quitzau, New Meanies, Fred Eaglesmith, Njacko Backo & Kalimba Kalimba, Bocephus King, Kiran Ahluwalia, Barley Wik, The Perpetrators, The Sadies, Cracker Cats, Serena Ryder, Wayne Lavalee, and the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir.

The latest addition to the Ness Creek Music Festival is The Chill Tent where the action carries on after the Main Stage performances with DJs and more live artists. The All The World’s a Stages I and II showcases music, dance, storytelling, poetry slams and spoken word and theatre.

Also an important part of the Ness Creek Music Festival, the Eco-Village celebrates all things green with demonstrations and information on things relating to the environment.

Prices range from $30 - $50 for day passes, to $90 - $125 for weekend passes that also include on-site camping.

As this is principally an outdoor event it is advisable to come prepared for all weathers.
